As benefit part of a cost benefit analysis for the introduction for the introduction of each part of a 4 part test procedure to improve side impact protection proposed by IHRA. The procedure consists of
- a new Mobile Deformable Barrier test (also known as AEMDB, Advanced European Mobile Deformable Barrier),
- an oblique (75°) pole test,
- an improved interior head protection test and
- an out of position side airbag test.

Each of these requests is covered by the respective chapter of this report:
- Magnitude of Injuries sustained by Struck Side Rear Occupants
- Magnitude of injuries sustained by Non-Struck Side Occupants
- Injury Risk from Deploying Side Airbags
- Magnitude of Lateral Pole Impacts
