The goal of the APROSYS Sub-Project 6 is the development of knowledge and tools enabling the design, implementation and evaluation of intelligent safety systems that improve the crash safety of vehicles in side impact. The first step in achieving this goal is identification of relevant scenarios and pre-crash parameters from real world accident data. This report contains results of an accident study. This is a preliminary study that together with the information gathered in Sub-Project 8.3 will provide general information to start the design of the pre-crash system.
