Improved Interior Head Protection in Lateral Impacts - Deliverable Report D113A.
August 2006, Public document.
One of the main objectives of Sub-Project 1 is to support the global development of harmonised of side impact test procedures. The Aprosys work focuses on the development and validation of four draft impact test procedures, proposed by the International Harmonised research Activities (IHRA). These could form the basis for future worldwide standards.
This report details the research performed under task 1.1.3, ‘Interior head protection in lateral impact’, during the first 18 month period of the programme. The project focuses on the EEVC interior FMH test procedure developed by EEVC WG13. To be consistent with the MDB test procedure that considers both driver and rear seat passenger, the interior FMH procedure was extended by WG13 to include the rear seat occupants.
