| About SP6: intelligent safety systems | |
In this sub-project further progress in car safety technology is envisioned from the use of pre-crash systems. Such systems make use of sensing which looks around the vehicles, so information about the crash can be available prior to the impact. The focus will be on system definition, specification and validation of a side pre crash system with sensors, algorithms and actuators. Specific research objectives are:
Work in this sub-project has been divided into 5 work packages reflecting the general work flow: system definition, sensor systems, actuators, system integration and testing. The partners include 1 car manufacturer, 2 suppliers, 3 research institutes
and 2 universities. The Sub Project is headed by Joachim Tandler from
VDO Automotive AG (Continental) in Germany. To get more information on sub project 6 please contact Joachim Tandler
directly. Dr. Joachim Tandler is an expert in the field of Radar Generic Development and has extensive experience in co-ordinating international research projects. His scientific work as a post doc and Ph.D student at Bonn University included detector component work and detector data analysis. For deliverables of SP 6 etc., see deliverables. |
